What are the pros and cons of working in a call center? 'bout the pay? the working environment? what's the best call center to work for? and etc.

i'm REALLY tempted to quit my job and work at a call center because of the high pay... but man, it's a dead end job. no room for growth. it's so boring, you just answer calls and stuff. eventually, you'll get tired of it and then it'll affect your work performance, then you'll suck at your job, then your boss will fire your ass off. so there

has nothing against call centers.... but don't you guys think you should end up in workplaces where your knowledge or area of expertise is used? C'mon, 4 years of stay in UP and you just want to answer phones?... well, if the pay is good...what the heck, right?... 'll just leave it to you guys to think about the pros and cons, we we were taught to think and decide for ourselves, so we should know better...

I heard alot of comments about UPIANS working in a call center and just wasting their hard earned diplomas and brains and to think mga Isko!Guys, taking calls is just the first step! If you're really good (UPians pa), you can be promoted in a few months time and be a Supervisor, Trainer, Analyst, part of Admin, IT dept, part of HR and etc There are alot of departments u can transfer and internal hiring is on a weekly&monthly basis as the team grows! They hire every week! Promotion is here and there and everywhere kumbaga! You just have to be good with your stats and deliver! The management is just waiting for ppl to step up and im glad to know that in my company alot of UPians are making us proud. I work for PeopleSupport(PS) and was with the first batch that was brought to mnl and again one of the few CHOOSEN ;D reps who started PS cebu. Yes, i took calls for 8months and then 2months after being transferred here in Cebu, i was promoted as a Real Time Analyst.Masscom na puro numbers ang giatubang!Maka remember jud kong cabahug and sir anota:)
There are alot of UPians in PS.. u want me to name them? Lets see.. hmm CARLA CODILLA(we started in mnl and she's a supervisor now in Cebu), CRISTINA ALDANA (we started in mnl too and she's now with Quality Assurance Dept here in Cebu..she just gave birth 3days ago and it's a girl!!),CHAY ENERIO (started here in cebu Batch 2 i think, a sup also),JOHN MISA (uyab ni Chay-sori chay ehehe a Sup also)PIERRE POBRE (few months pa lang ata sya but he's rily good!y? cz im barging into his calls ehhe sori pierre), JILL DEL MAR (she just resigned ), LIONELL "mogs"BLANCO( i listen to his calls and he's good pud ha! Mabuhay and LATAGAW:) and i met some girl n gals who are UPians pud.Nagbaha!
The pay is really good as it is way way above the cebu rate. I dnt think it rily matters if ur working in a call center or not. in anything we do, we have to be good and give our best shot and make sure our alma mater will be proud of us..all rightie?

SAYANG!! kung di nimo magamit.. It is true that you will be receiving more than the average ppl here in cebu, but think about your future.. how long will you live.. will there be any way of expanding your knowledge... those guys nga nauna nimo dali lang mapromote, kay wala pa man nauna.. kung naa na gani nakapuwesto sa taas.. huwat na lang ka nga muresign to siya.. the question is when??? i still remember my classmate saying "KUNG MUSULOD KA UG CALL CENTER, hunahunaa na lang sad nga wa ko kaila nimo!!".. taas siya ug pride.. pero kasabot ko niya!
